How does apple cider vinegar for acne work?

Apple cider vinegar has excellent benefits for the insides of your body as well as the outside. To learn more about the health benefits of apple cider vinegar internally, you can check out apple cider vinegar detox and apple cider vinegar for weight loss.

For your skin, whether it’s your face or your body, apple cider vinegar can greatly reduce or get rid of acne and pimples, even out your skin tone, soften your skin, and fade out your acne scars.

It’s one of the best ways to get great skin because it’s inexpensive and the ingredients used are 100% organic and natural. I really recommend trying apple cider vinegar to get rid of acne and improving your skin tone.

But I have to temper expectations and say it may not work for everyone. But the potential benefits of improved skin tone compared to the cost makes apple cider vinegar easily worth trying.

The main ingredient in raw organic apple cider vinegar that cures acne and pimples is malic acid. This acid is an antibacterial that fights off bacteria that causes pimples and acne.

Your face is also naturally acidic, if you didn’t know, and many face wash products on the market dry out your face or make it too oily  – which can lead to eczema like skin, pimple breakouts, and acne.

Apple cider vinegar helps restore the natural acidity of your skin, by helping you balance your skin’s natural pH levels and get you an overall better skin tone. The key to getting amazing skin is maintaining an ideal skin pH level.

On top of that, apple cider vinegar can help reduce aging lines on your face and dark spots. It can also draw out toxins from your face too. Overall, you can benefit from younger looking and softer feeling skin – with a better glow too!

Does apple cider vinegar help acne?

I think apple cider vinegar for acne is absolutely something you should try out. It doesn’t work for everyone and not everybody gets great results from it. But again, it’s a very low cost product that can do wonders for your skin. It’s worth a shot. Worst case, if it does nothing for you, you can make some wicked salad dressings out of it 😛

But on a more serious note, as long as you don’t have any side effects from using it, you should continue using it for at least a few weeks to give it enough time to work. Check your skin and see if the acne has been reduced. See if your pimples have diminished, and see if you have broken out.

I posted three videos of people who have used apple cider vinegar to treat their acne and clear up their faces below. Hopefully you can achieve similar or better results.

They key thing apple cider vinegar does for acne specifically is that apple cider vinegar contains antibacterial and antiseptic properties. These things are really awesome at reducing acne scars and diminishing the appearance of acne.

Bacteria, fungus, and viruses that exist on your skin can penetrate it causing ugly skin problems like acne and pimples. Many acne treatment products contain ingredients that fight these skin irritating agents. Apple cider vinegar is a natural product that naturally contains these skin irritating fighting agents, and that’s why it can be very effective at reducing and eliminating acne.

Regular store bought products can do the same for you too. But there’s obviously a lot of products out there, and while they are similar, they have different ingredients and it can be tough to find the right stuff that will really give your skin the clear glow. Plus, they’re more expensive than apple cider vinegar.

How to use apple cider vinegar for acne?

To use apple cider vinegar for your skin, you’ll need to make an apple cider vinegar toner. Making the toner is really easy and simple. By the way, a wonder is meant to go on your face after you’ve washed it with whatever products you use. Toners are meant to restore your skins pH levels (which is how apple cider vinegar helps you get clearer skin).

Here is a simple apple cider vinegar acne toner mix: This is all you’ll need!

If you have sensitive skin:

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 4 table spoon water

If you have normal skin

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon water

If you have oily skin:

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 table spoon water

How much apple cider vinegar toner you make doesn’t matter. Mix the liquids into a jar or container. That’s it. And don’t worry about it going bad. It’s very stable in room temperature and has good shelf life.

To apply your apply cider vinegar mix to your face or skin, use cotton balls or something similar. Wet the cotton ball with your apple cider vinegar mixture and lightly wipe around your face with it. You can do this after each time you wash your face, like after a shower or when you’ve just removed your makeup after a late night out.

Give it a few weeks to measure results. Many people do find positive results quickly.

Also, if you aren’t sure what type of skin you have, start with the “sensitive skin” mixture first. Better be safe with the vinegar to start then to overdo it. You can definitely adjust your mixture as you learn how your skin reacts to apple cider vinegar.

Below are a few really inspiring Youtube videos of people who are using apple cider vinegar to cure their acne and get much clearer skin.

You’ll learn how to make apple cider vinegar mixtures and apply it to your face too, so if you wanted to see how it’s done through a video, definitely watch any of the below videos.

Apple cider vinegar for acne scars

Apple cider vinegar can work for acne scars too. The main issue with scars is that by definition of what a scar is, it’s permanent. Even when you talk about things like stretch marks (which is a type of scar), you usually can’t 100% get rid of them. They are permanent.

But, there’s usually ways to diminish the appearance of scars. And sometimes, you can really fade away the look and color of scar tissue. There are a lot of products that can help you with that, but maybe try out apple cider vinegar first, or if you’ve had poor success with acne scar products, try apple cider vinegar.

Though I have to mention that there isn’t really any concrete proof or studies that show apple cider vinegar gets rid of acne scars.

Bragg’s apple cider vinegar for acne treatment

The main thing you need to do is buy the right kind of apple cider vinegar. I suppose the brand you buy won’t matter as long as you purchase the right type of apple cider vinegar.

What you want to buy is the raw, organic, unfiltered, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar. Basically, buy the real stuff. It’s maybe 5-7 dollars for a bottle, compared to 1-2 dollars a bottle of the cheap fake stuff. Never use the cheap fake stuff. It doesn’t contain the same type of antibacterial properties that real apple cider vinegar has.

To know that you’re looking at the right type of apple cider vinegar, make sure the bottle says with “mother”. ACV that contains mother will have the antibacterial properties that will clear up your skin.

As far as good brands of apple cider vinegar, Bragg’s is all the rage. They are an extremely popular manufacturer of apple cider vinegar and I highly recommend their products. They charge about $4.99 for a bottle of ACV. A lot of people are using Bragg’s apple cider vinegar for acne. If you don’t know what brand to get or want to make sure you get the best apple cider vinegar, then I recommending going for Bragg’s apple cider vinegar. You can check out their product on their website here.

Alternatives to apple cider vinegar acne treatments

There are many products out there that treat acne. It’s not surprising, given the amount of people who suffer from skin conditions like acne.

Most products revolve and skin cleansers and facial toners. Also, there are also pills that can clear up your skin too.

These products are definitely more expensive than apple cider vinegar. But I feel like it almost doesn’t matter how much things costs when it comes to looking great and getting beautiful glowing skin.

If you haven’t tried apple cider vinegar to treat acne, definitely give it a shot. If it doesn’t work, then continue looking for other ways to get rid of your acne. Products can do wonders, and so can apple cider vinegar.

The problem is, everyone has different skin and suffer from different types of skin conditions, and there isn’t one product that will fix everything for everyone. So it can get a little frustrating finding the right acne treating product that will work FOR YOU.

So you kinda just have to keep trying out stuff until you find that one product that works like a charm.

Good luck!
