Everyone can make $500.

No matter how unskilled or unemployed you might be right now.

But the real question is, how fast can you make $500?

Today, I want to share with you my top ways to make $500. I’ve listed the different ways to make this money with fast ways and longer ways.

15 Ways To Make $500

How to make 500 dollars in a week or less

1// Complete surveys for money

If you’re not aware, you can fill out surveys for money. They are really simple and straight forward to do. You are basically just giving your opinion on things and getting paid for it.

So everyone can do it.

You get paid per survey completed usually. And the amount you are paid depends on how long the survey is. You could be paid a few dollars to 10 dollars or more per survey.

To make $500 in a week filling out surveys, you’d have to fill out many surveys. You’ll also need to join several survey websites because it will give you more surveys to fill out for money.

Here are my recommend survey companies that pay well and are reputable.

I recommend signing up for all of them if you want the opportunity to fill out the most surveys possible to make the most money:

  1. Ipsos
  2. Vindale
  3. E-Poll
  4. Survey Junkie

2// Drive for Uber

If you have a car that isn’t too old and a valid drivers license, and Uber is in your city, you can make easy money driving people around.

Uber is essentially a taxi service, but you drive your own car and take people where they need to go. You get paid very well in my opinion.

You can make $500 in one night driving with Uber, though this isn’t the norm.

When you drive on busy nights, the rates customers pay for Uber double, triple, even quadruple, because everyone is looking for a ride. So a ride that normally costs $20 could be as much as $80 or so. That’s a ton of money!

From what I can tell, it’s pretty easy to become an Uber drive too.

It’s a great way to make at least a few hundred dollars a day working part time with them, or you can of course do it full time if you don’t have a job or want to quit your job.

Check out Uber’s website to learn more about driving with them.

3// Learn how to save money

I think most people underestimate how powerful it is to maximize the way they save money. There are so many ways to save money every day, from using less hot water when you shower to simply buying less stuff.

I think learning to be frugal with the things that aren’t as important in your life is a great place to start. It doesn’t mean you need to give up all that is fun and great in life. You should definitely spend money on the things you love in life.

But the things you maybe don’t love as much, well, stop wasting money on those things. If you don’t truly love coffee, why have one every day. You know?

I wrote an incredible article that lists over 100+ ways to save money. It has tons of examples too.

4// Do odd jobs

Check your local free listings or newspaper for advertisements. Websites like Craigslist are great for this.

Companies are always looking for extra help with odd jobs like landscaping, roofing, building stuff, you name it. It’s usually not the most glamorous work, but it’s money. And many times, you get paid cash when you finish the job so that’s always great.

How to make 500 dollars in a day

The best way to make $500 in one day is to sell stuff you own.

Making $500 in just one day isn’t so easy when you don’t have a business or anything that generates you passive income.

However, if you need cash right now, I really recommend selling stuff you’re willing to part with.

Roam around your home and find old clothes or brand name things that you don’t need anymore. Find those old iPhones and GoPro’s you’re not using anymore. If you have anything old and antique like, those are great to sell too.

Basically, if you think you could sell it, gather it up.

Here are my top ways to sell your items fast to get the most cash for your items:

6// Have a yard sale

It takes a little bit of prep work to hold a successful yard sale, but definitely doable within a week. Gather up everything you can part with and hold one!

If you don’t want to hold your own yard sale, then find someone who IS having a yard sale, and then offer them money so you can sell your stuff at their yard sale. You don’t have to worry about setting it up or advertising. I love this idea so much and it makes life so much easier.

Check out this article on how to have a successful yard sale.

7// Sell on Craigslist / other free listing websites

Selling things online is a great way to get rid of things for money. I prefer free sites like Craigslist or Kijiji because there are no fees for listing items for sale. This is especially good if you don’t have a ton of items for sale.

You pretty much just need a phone to sell on Craigslist. Snap a few photos of your items for sale, upload them onto Craigslist, and wait for interested people to contact you.

8// Go to the Casino

It’s risky but it’s the quickest way to make $500 or more in the least amount of time. Personally, I don’t recommend it. Making money at the Casino is not sustainable. But for one night, maybe worth the gamble.

9// Take out a loan

Technically you aren’t making money taking out a loan, but if you need cash right away, a loan is one of the easiest ways to get it.

It gets a little bit more complicated when you have bad credit or already owe a lot of money, or don’t currently have reliable income. You may not qualify for a traditional loan most people can get. There are payday loans that are easier to get but they are the LAST resort if you need money really really badly and just don’t have any other way to get it.

How to make $500 every day for pretty much forever

It’s obviously nice to make five hundred dollars right away, but to be honest with you, the most sustainable way to make money every single day for the rest of your life is to start a business like a blog, and start investing in things that make you a lot of money in the long run.

Here’s how they work in more detail:

10// Start a blog

A blog is my favorite way to make a lot of money. You can start making money within your first few months. It’s not going to be $500, and it probably won’t even be $100. But in 6 months to 1 year, it can definitely be several hundred, and maybe around the 2 year mark, making $500 every single day with not a lot of work is very reasonable.

A blog is doubly awesome because anyone can do it. You need access to an internet connection, a computer, your brain, and then you need to work your ass off building your blog.

I have to stress that ANYONE can do it. It’s a lot of work. But this is why most people fail at blogging. Because they don’t put in the work required. But the mechanics of making a blog successful and making it generate money isn’t hard once you learn how to do it.

A blog makes money by attracting visitors. These visitors can do a bunch of things that make the blogger money, like buying a product that the blogger recommend, or clicking an ad on the bloggers website.

Without getting into too much detail, a blogger’s job day in and day out would be to write great content that people want to read, and then attract people that are interested in it. And then figure out ways to make money from the content.

That’s blogging in a nutshell.

A lot of people start blogging on the side when they are starting out. Nobody is in a position to just quit their jobs to blog full time.

You can learn how to start a blog here.

11// Start investing

Investing is a way to make money for later in life.

The longer you leave your investments growing and accumulating value, the more money you’ll have in the end if you do it smartly.

Typical investments are buying stocks, bonds, and real estate.

But other types of investments include buying land, or buying anything that is rare and vintage that can or is already growing in value every day.

Basically, you want to learn about what appreciates in value over time. And then you want to focus on putting your money into these things.

I think most people should get started learning about investing in things like stocks and bonds. You might feel scared about losing all your money or it might just sound too confusing already.

But anyone who loses all their money in stocks are idiots. Because you NEVER invest in a way risks you losing it all.

There is a lot to learn and a lot of learning as you start investing. But you gotta do something with your life right, and you gotta save for when you’re old. So this is something you have to learn anyway.

Check out these websites to learn about investing.

12// Raise your credit score

A good to great credit score will save you thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars over your life time.

Of all the financial things people neglect, I feel like peoples credit scores is the biggest one.

Most people don’t really think too carefully about the consequences of not paying a credit card for a few months. Or taking out too much money knowing they probably can’t pay it back.

A bad credit score means you will receive a bad interest rate. It means you will have to pay more money to take out a loan. Twice as much, three times as much, or even more than a person who has great credit.

I think most people neglect their credit rating because they don’t really understand it and don’t know how important it is.

But let’s get educated man!!

It’s much less complicated that learning about stocks and things like that. So that’s a big plus. You can get a great understanding of how your credit works and how to improve it by reading a few great articles.

Here are a few great reads I recommend:
